FALL RETREAT 2026 | UNASHAMED
What does it look like to live unashamed for Christ?
This fall, Synergy Students from across our churches are coming together for a weekend centered on Romans 1:16–17 and the call to boldly live out our faith. Unashamed is about more than simply knowing what we believe—it’s about being encouraged and challenged to live like we actually believe it.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll make space for spiritual depth, meaningful conversations, worship, and SO MUCH FUN! This is a chance for Synergy Students to step outside of the normal routine, meet students from other churches, strengthen one another, and be reminded that we don’t have to live out our faith alone.
This weekend will include three main sessions focused on our topic UNASHAMED, small groups for discussion, along with plenty of time to hang out and have fun with students from our Synergy churches. We’ll provide three meals, including Cane’s for lunch on Saturday, and students will have opportunities to participate in activities like Glow Capture the Flag, the Amazing gRACE, and other games and activities, with some free time built into the schedule as well. On Friday night, students will stay in host homes with other students and leaders, giving them another opportunity to build relationships and experience the weekend together. It’s designed to be a full weekend of teaching, fellowship, food, games, and time together that students won’t want to miss.

In order to provide a safe environment for children and youth who participate in our ministries, we require that all youth and adults who serve in GraceKids or Grace Student Ministries complete an annual volunteer application. A background check will be conducted every four years on anyone 18 years of age or older. If you've been asked to complete a reference form for a potential Grace Student volunteer, please click here.

Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart by J.D. Greear helps students understand that salvation isn’t about saying the right prayer or having a perfect conversion moment. Our assurance comes from trusting in Jesus and His finished work, not from looking back at a prayer we once prayed.
Why we recommend it: This is a helpful resource for students who struggle with questions like, “Am I really saved?” or who repeatedly pray to be saved because they aren’t sure they did it right. It points students back to the gospel and helps them understand genuine faith and assurance.
Discipling by Mark Dever and Paul Alexander is a practical guide to helping Christians grow in their faith and make disciples of others. It emphasizes that discipleship happens through relationships, God’s Word, the local church, and intentional investment in others.
Why we recommend it: This is a helpful resource for students and leaders who want to understand what it actually looks like to follow Jesus and help others follow Him. It fits well with our desire to grow students to be the church by teaching them to live out their faith and invest in others.
Grounded in Grace by Jonathan D. Holmes helps students understand their identity and security in Christ by pointing them to God’s grace rather than their performance. It encourages them to see how the gospel shapes the way they view themselves, God, and their relationships.
Why we recommend it: This is a helpful resource for students who struggle with people-pleasing, insecurity, or feeling like they have to earn God’s approval. It continually points students back to the grace of God and the freedom found in the gospel.
