The Grace Care Team seeks to meet the practical, relational, and spiritual needs of people in our church who are walking through seasons of difficulty or transition.

The Grace Care Team serves elderly shut-ins, people on our cancer prayer list, new widows and widowers, and others who may need extra care and support. Volunteers can serve in a variety of ways depending on their gifts, availability, and the needs of those in our church family.

Prayer Partners
Build meaningful relationships through prayer, encouragement, and presence. Prayer Partners make weekly contact with those they are serving, offering a listening ear, checking in on their needs, and praying with and for them.

Transportation Partners
Help people stay connected and get where they need to go. Transportation Partners provide rides to church, medical appointments, or other necessary destinations when an individual needs assistance with transportation.

Meals & Food Gifts
Show care through a practical gift of food. Volunteers help prepare and deliver meals when circumstances make it difficult for someone to prepare food for themselves. There may also be opportunities to provide baked goods or other food gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, or other special occasions as appropriate.

Home Improvement & Repair
Use your practical skills to help meet needs around the home. Volunteers help organize and complete simple home repairs and improvement projects for individuals who may need an extra hand.

Funeral Meal Team

Serve families during a difficult season by providing a practical expression of care and hospitality.

The Funeral Meal Team helps provide meals and hospitality for funerals at Grace Community Church. Volunteers can serve by donating food, helping serve the meal, or assisting with cleanup.

Meal Donations
Help provide a meal for families and guests. Volunteers can donate items such as fruit salad, miscellaneous salads, cupcakes, or other requested food items.

Meal Service
Help create a welcoming and caring environment for grieving families. Volunteers help serve food and care for the needs of guests during the funeral meal.

Kitchen & Cleanup
Help make the meal run smoothly from beginning to end. Volunteers assist with preparing the serving area, cleaning the kitchen, and helping with cleanup after the meal.

Grace Groups are formed by individuals willing to invest in others and nurture authentic community. You don't need to have all the answers; just a desire to help people connect, grow in faith, and share life.

Whether you're interested in leading a Bible study, discipleship group, or community group, support and resources are available to help you lead well.

Grace Group Leader
Help people connect, grow in faith, and share life together. Grace Group Leaders invest in the lives of others by creating a welcoming environment where people can build authentic relationships, study God's Word, grow in their faith, and encourage one another.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate regular Grace Group gatherings.

• Create an environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

• Encourage authentic community and meaningful conversation.

• Help group members grow in their relationship with Jesus.

• Pray for and invest in the people in your group.

• Use available resources and support to help lead your group well.

Grace Kids Ministry seeks to develop kids who love God, love people and lead others to do the same.

Nursery
A nursery helper provides loving care and supervision for young children, creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and parents can worship with peace of mind.

Sunday School Teacher
Faithfully serves by teaching God’s Word, encouraging spiritual growth, and creating a welcoming environment where children can learn, ask questions, and grow in their faith.

Sunday School Helper
Supports the teacher by assisting with activities, snacks, caring for students, and helping create a welcoming, engaging environment where everyone can learn and grow in their faith.

Awana Leader
Helps children learn and apply God’s Word, builds meaningful relationships with them, and creates a fun, welcoming environment where they can grow in their faith.

Grace Students seeks to grow students to be the Church.

No matter your role, every Grace Students volunteer plays an important part in creating a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Every volunteer is expected to:

• Model a growing relationship with Jesus.

• Build intentional relationships with students.

• Help create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment.

• Encourage students to take their next step in following Jesus.

• Support the mission and values of Grace Students through their words, actions, and example.

D-Group Leader
Help students grow through intentional discipleship. D-Group Leaders facilitate D-Group discussions during each ministry gathering and create a safe, engaging environment where students can ask questions, build relationships, and grow in their faith.

Responsibilities:

• Lead weekly D-Group discussions.

• Prepare ahead of time by reviewing the discussion guide or lesson.

• Build meaningful relationships with students inside and outside of group time.

• Encourage participation and create an environment where every student feels noticed and known.

• Engage with students throughout the entire evening, not just during D-Group time.

D-Group Helper
Support meaningful conversations and build lasting relationships. D-Group Helpers partner with D-Group Leaders to create an engaging small group environment where students feel seen, known, and encouraged to participate.

Responsibilities:

• Support the D-Group Leader during weekly discussions.

• Contribute to conversations and encourage student participation.

• Occasionally lead discussions as needed.

• Build intentional relationships with students.

• Engage with students throughout the evening.

Welcome Team Member
Create an environment where every student feels known from the moment they arrive. Welcome Team Members are often the first people students interact with at Grace Students and help create a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome students as they arrive.

• Assist with the check-in process.

• Learn students' names and help new students get connected.

• Create a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere.

• Intentionally interact with students throughout the evening.

The Hospitality Ministry seeks to love people by showing Christ-like hospitality. We want to welcome one another as Christ welcomed us, for the glory of God (Romans 15:7).

Hospitality volunteers typically serve one Sunday a month at either the 9:00 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. service.

Coffee Team
Help create a welcoming environment with a warm cup of coffee. Coffee Team volunteers prepare fresh coffee and clean up after services.

Greeters
Help every person feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Greeters welcome people at our entrances and help new guests find the nursery, kids' check-in, and other areas of the church.

Connection Desk
Help people get connected at Grace. Connection Desk volunteers remain in the foyer to answer questions, provide information, and help people find the next step in getting connected.

Hospitality Lead
Help lead and equip the Hospitality Team. Hospitality Leads serve twice a month, gather the Hospitality Team for prayer, and help train new volunteers.

Ushers
Help people feel welcome and comfortable as they join us for worship. Ushers welcome people, pass out programs, and help people find seats.

Lead Usher
Help lead the usher team and keep Sunday morning running smoothly. Lead Ushers welcome people, pass out programs, help people find seats, fill in gaps as needed, and take attendance counts.

The Men's Ministry at Grace Community Church aims to cultivate biblically grounded men of faith who honor Jesus Christ in all aspects of life.

The goals of Men's Ministry include:

• Providing godly leadership at home.

• Exploring the Word of God through study.

• Reaching out to other men with the Gospel.

• Encouraging involvement in Christian discipleship.

There are several opportunities to serve through Men's Ministry, whether you enjoy creating fellowship, helping with events, or investing in the spiritual growth of other men.

Men's Breakfast Team
Help create a welcoming environment where men can connect and build community. Volunteers help prepare, serve, and create fellowship at the Men's Breakfast, held every third Saturday of the month.

Men's Retreat Team
Help create an impactful weekend of fellowship and spiritual growth. Volunteers help plan, prepare for, and serve at the annual Men's Retreat.

Bible Study & Discipleship Leaders
Help men grow in their relationship with God and one another. Volunteers lead Bible studies and discipleship groups, creating opportunities for men to study God's Word, build relationships, and grow in their faith.

Men's Event Team
Help create opportunities for fellowship and connection. Volunteers help plan and serve at the Men's Steak Out and other Men's Ministry events throughout the year.

Reach Local

Reach Local seeks to support local, Newton-based ministries as we seek to be a catalyst for revival in our town.

From meeting practical needs to showing the love of Jesus through church events, we want to be known for owning the mission and serving our community.

Reach Local Committee
Help our church reach Newton with the love of Jesus. Committee members help identify opportunities to serve and support local ministries and help plan ways for Grace Community Church to engage with our community.

The committee meets monthly on Sunday afternoons or Wednesday evenings. In preparation for the Big Serve, the team also gathers weekly.

Big Serve
Help meet practical needs and serve our community together. Volunteers participate in the Big Serve by serving local organizations and ministries throughout Newton.

New Hope Shelter
Show the love of Jesus to people in our community who need support. Volunteers serve at New Hope Shelter during our assigned weeks by bringing meals and spending time ministering to residents.

Reach Global helps our church own the mission by supporting and engaging in God's work around the world.

From serving at the Missions Fair and Operation Christmas Child to supporting missionaries through prayer and outreach, there are opportunities for everyone to make an eternal impact.

Missions Fair
Help our church connect with and support missionaries around the world. Volunteers help with the Missions Fair by assisting with setup, serving during the event, and helping church members connect with missions opportunities.

Operation Christmas Child
Share the love of Jesus with children around the world. Volunteers help with Operation Christmas Child by preparing and packing shoeboxes and assisting with various opportunities throughout the season.

Missions & Missionary Support
Help support God's work around the world. Volunteers can serve by praying for missionaries, participating in outreach opportunities, and helping our church stay connected to the work God is doing globally.

The desire of Women's Ministry is to nurture the hearts of women to know God's Word and follow faithfully after Christ, to demonstrate authenticity and love, and to serve as they are uniquely made.

More simply stated, our aim is to encourage disciple-making disciples!

There are several ways to serve through Women's Ministry, whether you enjoy behind-the-scenes preparation, helping plan events, or creating opportunities for women to connect and grow together.

Legacy Decor Team
Help create a welcoming environment for Legacy. Decor Team volunteers help prepare and decorate the space on Monday evening before Legacy.

Legacy Clean-Up & Tear Down
Help leave things better than you found them. Volunteers help tear down decorations and clean up after Legacy on Tuesday evening.

Legacy Planning Team
Help plan and shape Women's Ministry events. Planning Team members help with the organization, preparation, and details of Legacy and other Women's Ministry events.

Limited spots are available. This role requires strong spiritual maturity and organizational skills.

Fellowship Events
Help create opportunities for women to connect and build relationships. Volunteers help with the planning, preparation, and hosting of Women's Ministry fellowship events.

The Worship & Tech Ministry seeks to grow the church's love for God through worship through song. We value participation over performance, theology before feeling, and undistracting excellence.

Most Worship & Tech volunteers typically serve once a month.

Producer
Help create a smooth and organized worship service. Producers serve twice a month and help ensure the smooth flow of the service while giving direction to the tech team.

Audio
Help create an excellent, distraction-free worship experience. Audio volunteers mix and manage the sound during services.

ProPresenter
Help communicate the service through visuals. ProPresenter volunteers run the slides and projected content during services.

Lights & Livestream
Help create an engaging worship environment and share the service online. Volunteers operate the lighting and livestream during services.

Camera
Help share the worship service with those watching online. Camera volunteers operate the cameras during services.

Vocalists
Use your voice to help lead the church in worship. Vocalists serve as part of the worship team during services.

Instrumentalists
Use your musical gifts to help lead the church in worship. Instrumentalists serve as part of the worship team during services.
